About Us

Shortly after my Great-Great Grandfather Nels immigrated from Norway, he and his brother Christian were called up and went to fight in the Civil War in this new Country. Christian was killed in the Battle of Nashville. Nels returned home, married, moved to Ottertail County and homesteaded this land. My Grandfather lived here and served in WW 1. My Dad served in Post WW 2 Germany. My wife came as a refugee from Vietnam after Saigon fell. We are the grateful recipients of the valor of others.

The Site and the Chapel are about 2 People that gave us something that we can never repay. One gave us Freedom. That is the American Soldier. One gave us Eternal Freedom. That is Jesus Christ. The soldiers paid a price. Christ paid the ultimate price.

We are grateful for both sacrifices and the gift that they created. We want to acknowledge what was done for us and remind others. Thank you Veterans who have served. Thank you Christ for coming to save us.

We don't seek or take donations. We hope for people to reflect on what we have here and the opportunities that have been given us. If you feel like giving to someone else - please give to a worthy cause that needs your help. There are a lot of them such as your local Legion, VFW or church.
